Camera Man

A parallax camera rig. Assign depth to your layers, move a virtual camera between two positions, and bake the parallax to keyframes.

BakesTRANSLATION_XYSCALE_XYROTATION (on roll)

What it does

Camera Man is a parallax camera rig. You assign a depth to each layer, move a virtual camera between a Start and an End position, and the tool bakes the resulting position and scale keyframes onto every layer, nearer layers move more, farther layers less, exactly like a real camera pass over a stack of planes.

Quick start

Three steps get you a move.

1
Select layers inside a frame.
2
Assign depth indices in the Depth Map (lower = nearer = more parallax).
3
Move the camera, then hit Bake Keyframes.

Camera modes

The viewport has two drag modes, and you can flip between them without letting go.

XY pan
Drag the viewport to track the camera horizontally and vertically. Hotkey X.
Z dolly
Drag up/down (or scroll) to dolly the camera in and out for a depth-zoom. Hotkey Z.
Roll
Rotate the camera to tilt the whole scene. This is the mode that writes the ROTATION track. Hotkey R.
⌥ hold
Temporarily swap to another mode while dragging.

Start & End

Toggle the Start / End keyframe buttons (or press Tab) to edit each end of the move. Scrub the timeline beneath the preview, or press Space to play. Double-click the viewport to reset the camera to its origin.

Depth & focus

Right-click a layer (in the list or the viewport) to assign it to a depth group; Shift-click to multi-select. Click a layer and confirm to lock focus, and a Z dolly then keeps that layer centered while everything around it zooms past.

Presets & easing

One-click camera moves get you started: Ken Burns, Dolly Zoom, Drift, Parallax Scroll, and Infinite Zoom (a continuous dolly). For the curve, pick an easing preset, draw a custom bezier, or pull in a Motif easing token if Motif Tokens is present in the document, the same tokens that drive the rest of your motion.

Baking

Set Dur (duration) and Steps (keyframe count), then Bake to write TRANSLATION_XY and SCALE_XY tracks to each layer. If the camera rolls, a ROTATION track is added too. Clear removes them, and Save / Load persist the whole rig with the document.

Depth order

Adjust layer order to match 3D perspective bakes into a depth-sorted duplicate of your frame (farther layers pushed behind). Your original is never touched, and each bake creates a fresh duplicate in the same spot, so remove old copies you no longer need.

Apply to main artboard skips the duplicate and reorders the original instead; one undo reverses it. Solo bakes only. Synergize composed bakes never duplicate or reorder.
