Composition

Synergize

Compose two motion tools into a single bake. Each engine contributes to shared tracks, blended together rather than overwriting.

BakesComposed tracks from both tools

What it does

Synergize composes two motion tools into one bake. Instead of running Camera Man and then running Physik and hoping the second doesn't stomp the first, you open a pair together and both engines contribute to the same timeline: their outputs blended per track rather than one overwriting the other.

The result is motion neither tool could make alone: a physics settle weighted by a distance field, entrance presets riding a camera move, a cloned array animated from its center outward.

How composition works

When two tools share a track (say both want to write TRANSLATION_XY) Synergize blends their contributions instead of letting the last writer win. Each tool computes its motion as usual, and the composed bake combines them into one set of keyframes, so a camera's parallax and an expression's wiggle land on the same layer at the same time.

Tracks only one tool touches pass through untouched, so a pairing that mixes position from one tool and opacity from another simply carries both.

Before you bake, a live preview shows the two engines composed together, so you judge the blended result rather than guessing. The preview docks out of the way when you want room to work and slides back when you need it.

Real pairs

Synergize only offers pairs that genuinely compose. A tool with a hard rig requirement won't be offered where its rig can't honestly exist, so you never get a fake composition that silently does nothing.

Physik + Falloff
A physics settle, weighted by distance from the field. Position · Rotation.
Quick Animate + Camera Man
Entrance presets riding a parallax camera move. Position · Scale.
Repeater + Falloff
A cloned array animated from its center outward. Position · Scale · Opacity.
Gestural Motion + Physik
A drawn path handed off to the physics sim. Position · Rotation.
Babel + Camera Man
Expression-driven motion inside a camera move. Position · Scale.
Quick Animate + Repeater
One preset, staggered across a cloned grid. Position · Opacity.
Particles + Camera Man
A particle burst carried through a parallax camera move, every particle keeping its own flight. Position · Scale.
Particles + Falloff
A burst shaped by a distance field, so particles nearer the center lead. Position · Scale · Opacity.

Solo behavior preserved

A composed bake is a clean write. It never duplicates or reorders layers the way some tools do on their own (Camera Man's depth-order duplicate, for instance, is a solo-only behavior). Synergize keeps the composition honest: two engines, one timeline, one predictable result.

What composes with what

Every Motif tool, and what it pairs with. The six transform tools and the two live generators (Repeater, Particles) compose freely; the only gap among them is that two generators share no target, so Repeater and Particles cannot pair with each other. Kinetic Type and Echo join Synergize in a later update. Motif Tokens and Motility are utilities: they author and retime motion rather than compose it, so they sit out.

Synergy compatibility matrix for every Motif tool. A filled cell means the row tool and column tool compose into a single bake.
