Repeater

Clone a layer into a grid or radial array, then animate the whole set with a per-element stagger. Change the count and it redistributes.

What it does

Repeater clones one selected layer into a grid or radial array, then animates each clone from an offset into place with a per-element stagger. Your source layer never moves. The clones are added as real nodes, so the whole array is editable geometry, not a preview.

Pattern

The Pattern control decides how the clones are laid out.

Grid
Rows × Cols with a pixel spacing.
Radial
A ring of Count elements at a Radius, starting from a given angle.
Gestural
Draw a path and clones flow along it.
Layer
Clones distribute evenly around the selected vector layer's outline.

Spin

Spin rotates the whole array around its center over the duration. Each clone orbits the center by the set angle (positive = clockwise, negative = counter-clockwise). Leave it at 0 for a static array.

Affect

Affect is the offset each clone animates from. Toggle Pos, Scale, Rot, and Opac and drag to set amounts: e.g. Scale 60% → 100%, Opacity 0 → 100. Each clone settles to the source's resting pose, so the array assembles itself into its final layout.

Timing & order

Duration is per element. Stagger is the delay between elements. Each clone holds its offset until its turn. Order chooses who goes first: by index, from the center outward, or random. Link timing to Motif tokens with the Pro toggle to keep the array in step with the rest of your motion.

Clear

Clear removes every element Repeater created (nodes are tagged on bake, so it only touches its own clones). The original layer is left untouched.
