Phone Sync

Pair your phone to the plugin and drive a tool from a second screen while the desktop bakes. A subscription feature.

What it does

Phone Sync turns your phone into a synced second screen for Motif Suite. You scan a QR code from the plugin, your phone opens the current tool mirrored, and you drive it from the phone's touchscreen while the desktop keeps doing the baking into Figma.

It shines on the tools you tune by feel, where a touchscreen beats a trackpad: dragging a camera move, shaping a falloff field, sketching a gestural path, or nudging particles.

How to pair

Open Phone Sync from the phone icon in the plugin header. A QR code appears; scan it with your phone's camera and it opens the paired session right in the phone's browser. There is no separate app to install.

A subscription feature

Phone Sync runs through a small relay server we host, so it is part of a Motif Suite subscription rather than a free tool. During the launch beta every tool is free, and Phone Sync is the one feature that needs a subscription, because the relay has a real running cost. The phone icon is always visible; without a subscription it opens a short 'this is a Pro feature' card with a subscribe link, and never contacts the relay.

Who is in charge

The desktop stays in control: it runs the actual bakes into your Figma file and enforces your subscription, so a paired phone can drive the interface but cannot unlock Pro tools on its own. Only tool settings, command names, status, and the layer and page names needed to mirror your selection travel between the two; your Figma file contents never leave the desktop.

Availability

Phone Sync adds a networked capability, so it needs its own review from Figma and ships as part of the v1.1 update rather than being guaranteed on day one. You can preview exactly how it works from the interactive demo on motifsuite.com, which plays the whole pairing handshake without a real connection.
